Thanks PRWIN I'm also going to tryPRWIN wrote:STF yes you flip the switch and you focus on the insect, problem you can't go too small, bee's and fly's are great. you will have to crop as well once you have taken the shot, also set you focus points to center focus only and open you f-stop to max, If it does not want to focus you are too close give it some room and then work your way in till it stop focusing again

How many crossword puzzles you ask?Mel wrote:Honestly, I know the comments sound repetitive...
But what is one to say with stunning photos like these?
The aphid giving birth - how many crosswords were that, ExFmem?
Well, first they had to go out on a few dates….
Seriously, I was reading about aphids after first photographing some and learned that they gave live birth. I searched through all the populations, (with a magnifying glass, they are SO tiny), and within a couple days found this one.
Just a side note: you can also see the parent secreting a drop of liquid (the little round ball) - that is a rapidly hardening waxy substance which helps protect and fend off predators.
(More than anyone ever wanted to know about aphids... )

And, btw, Katja, where are you?
God put me on earth to accomplish a certain amount of things. Right now I'm so far behind that I'll never die.

Wonderful pics again Wish here would be still summer, but it is quite hard to find insects and then most of the times it is to windy here.
So I have to practise with other "material"
