Re: Fast food outlets to ease SANParks' financial woes?

Post by Sprocky »

I must say, I have given this more thought. ;-)

It might not be such a bad idea, as long as they stick to the current advertising method and not go over board with franchise marketing standards used in malls and along the roadside in urban areas.

When I go camping in the park I never use the eating facilities on offer, it is always self catering in the form of a braai. So, this would not bug me much, and I only use the shops in the camps for ice.

Now, if they would open an Ocean Basket at Letaba I would probably be there every second Sunday for lunch.

Now to get real, I am against this change!!!

SANParks should first concentrate their feeble efforts on security, gate control and international travel to Moz, legal or illegal.

BTW, on Sunday I asked what I need to do to go to Moz via the park, the answer was that I only need to pay the daily conservation fee and if I have a wild card there is no additional charge. The overnight accommodation charge seems to have fallen away. O/

Issue of concern or step in the right direction?

Post by Twigga »

(I know there was mention about this some time back, seems as though this time is drawing near?)

Nothing official YET but there is a big possibility that well - known franchises may soon be apart of Kruger

But some of the experts said, not to worry, they will blend in, -O- Green K instead of red 0*\

Stumbled upon this survey they did in 2011

http://www.sanparks.org/docs/groups_ten ... _shops.pdf

I know the current state of cafeterias and restaurants in Kruger is in a bad state but do I really want to see a KFC in Kruger? :O^

Guess that is part of the "New Kruger" comrade, this is the 21 century "

:-( :-( :-(

How do you feel?

Hmmm? I can just imagine the headlines in a couple of years.......

"Scientists puzzled at the decline in certain bird species in the park. They seem to have just dissapeared." Said spokesperson Shelly Hartlaub.

Meanwhile, in other news.....

"KFC booming in the park. The new franchise of Kori's & Francolin's Charcoaled reported an increase of 200% in profits last year." Said cheif executive B. Lunderbuss. =O: =O: =O:

:-?

Why is Sanparks so desperately trying too break away from
a unique one of a kind image. Why addopt such a common
manner of thought and apply it all over self. Why not just
make it work like in the past. They have all the attributes
at hand and that without any competition. Perhaps just here
where the problem lies, to flippin lazy and lacking of creative
thought, ruling.

Instead of getting the commercial brand names in there why
not just get one of the tycoons, running these famous brands
and place him in charge of Sanparks. Then it will work without
any doubt!!!

There are a few things that worry me.

Will it just be the same management and staff employed under a different banner, because if that’s the case why bother.

Will this be takeaway type stuff with the accompanying packaging, which will increase the potential for littering?

Is there going to be any additional delivery vehicle impact and is the staff going to be transported in and out the park every day?
