No, not lanky enough and does not have the chevrons like your bird.

Black - bellied korhaan

Hi Twigga,

This one is a Red-crested Korhaan. The chevron markings on the back and lack of black on the neck.

Hreat choice for bird of the month, I'll dig out a pic or two to add to those already posted.

We had an amzing sighting of a Kori on the Lower Dune Road in the KTP in December 2008. As we came round a bend this bird took off and it was a Kori - always great to see one in flight but it had a snake in tow

It landed a distance from us but got one pic
