The reception staff at Olifants have not been informed that the restaurant will be closing for renovations, they say that M&B will make use of the current infrastructure. They said that it will be a quick change. 0-

The restaurant staff either act dumb, or they have no idea that M&B will be taking over. O**

It was announced that in the KNP’s, Lower Sabie; Olifants and Letaba camps Mugg and Bean restaurants will be fully operational from March 2014,

I don't think the deadline will be met, just a gut feeling!

Would be happy to be proven wrong! \O

I’m also battling to find “straight” answers about this mith O/

I’m still waiting to get an answer if SANParks scores anything from the turnover and if so, what percentage. All that I have mailed just ignore my question :-?

RP, I share your concern and deadlines and SANParks don't mix O** I can't think of many :-? :-? or any that have been achieved :-?

Wait :-? Price increases are never missed O**

Bushcraft your answers are probably here: http://www.sanparks.org/docs/groups_ten ... eement.pdf

Meanwhile....the poster on Sanparks has now said that they have had an email stating the closure dates of all the restaurants being refurbished for the new franchises. All their camps they have booked have no restaurant facilities for the duration of their stay. I think they only got this email from their own enquiries. I realise it is difficult to go through the refurb without closing but surely Sanparks should have some sort of alternative provision in place - even if it is only basic offerings. Also people have booked many months ago with no knowledge of this and the expectation of full restaurant facilities. I think a lot of people are going to turn up and be very unhappy. -O-

We have a booking in March and received the email yesterday with the closeure information both restaurant and fast food outlest. It works out to about 6 weeks per restaurant.

No date is given for Salati other than saying it will/should be open when The Skukuza restaurant and fast food is closed.

I remember a few years ago when the Skukuza restaurant was closed for redevelopment they had a huge marque in the car park housing a temporary restaurant.

Here is the email
Dear Guest,

As part of our effort to improve customer service in the Kruger National Park, we are in a process of setting up new restaurant operators at several of the camps.

These operators will be franchisees and in order for them to commence operations, it is necessary to do a facelift of the outlets and regrettably, we need to close these facilities for them to be able to do this properly.

Please see the below schedule reflecting the staggered closure of the various restaurants. We apologise for the inconvenience that this will have on your planned visit, and should you wish to amend your booking, we will gladly assist you in doing so. For such requests please

· send email to reservations@sanparks.org or

· telephone the reservations office at +27(0)12 428 9111.

Please note that the shops will be open as usual.

Restaurants (and fast foods/take-aways) at following camps will be closed on following dates:

Lower Sabie
13 January to 25 February 2014

Satara
27 January to 11 March 2014

Pretoriuskop
9 February to 25 March 2014

Olifants
19 February to 3 April 2014

Skukuza
1 March to 26 March 2014

(Selati Restaurant at Skukuza will be operational at this time)

Letaba
4 March to 15 April 2014

Yours sincerely.

Very interesting!

Maybe the proper private sector here will meet the deadlines after all! 0()

The closure dates for Skukuza have now been amended. Restaurant and fast food closed 1 March to 26 April. (8weeks). Salati is supposed to be open.
This period includes 1 long weekend (21 March), school holidays (29 Mar - 6 April) and Easter (18 - 21 April).
