A blissful sight! And quite nice to have a selection of game drinking, after the elephant mayhem earlier!

RP: "I just want to make sure your ID skills are improving, young bro!"

PW: "Don't 'young bro' me! What are you, some balding aspirant rap artist?"

RP: "Sorry!"

PW: "Besides, I can see the black and white stripes and manes clearly from here! Twit!:evil:"

RP: "O/ "

RP: "So, lucky to escape from those ellie at the dam!:shock:"

PW: "You mean the kudu?"

RP: "Er, yes, the big grey kudu with the trunks!"

PW: "Ja! Sjoe! That was close!"

RP: "Good thing I kept my wits about me! You noticed how I scanned the bush behind us, and saw the one bugger circling around to attack us! It's lucky I'm so experienced, otherwise we'd have been in trouble!"

PW: No argument there! Thanks, old bro!"

RP: "Well, I have been coming here for decades, no centuries, you know! Nothing gets past me with those b%^$#@#s! Yeah! High Five!8)"

Meanwhile, this big boy, a new one, had been standing in the road DIRECTLY behind us ALL the time...waiting patiently to get to the fountain as I was parked in the middle of the road...I only got the pic as we eventually reversed to leave and he had started walking off, and I had changed underwear, all in one movement!:oops:















Ellie: "Oh, it's that time of year again!:roll: Thought I recognised the smell! Wish the fool would stop spouting nonsense, even my parents complain about it! "

So we ran away from the breeding herd at the dam...









And a further view, to simulate the running...















PW: "Peek a boo!, I love this style of photography!! Just like just now!"











RP: "Well, I am an experienced photographer, you know! Notice the back-lighting and reflections! "

PW: "Why are we back at the dam?"

RP: "Because there is no more danger! The bull elephant/kudu have left now!\O! I know these animals!"


















PW: "Are you sure a bull may not sneak up on us?"

RP: "I'm sure, 'lil bro! Let's go see what's happening at the fountain!"












Klopperfontein's one drawback is that one cannot see what's going on at the fountain while you are at the dam, so one needs to dash back and forth, depending on how curious you are, how somnolent you are, or whether the elephant chase you from one to the other...

PW: "How blissful! I see the butchbuck is moving away now! Nice pics before! "

RP: "Yes! :roll: "

PW: "You say you've been coming here a long time? Isn't it dangerous in case some animals come to the water as we're so close?"


RP: "Don't worry, the elephant...err kudu, always appear on the FAR side of the dam! I'd stake my reputation on it! Could I have a beer please?"

PW: "Certainly...but what are these kudu doing on our left then?"















RP: "Oh Mighty Isis!!! err, I mean, don't worry!" (Scrambles for car keys and inadvertantly rips yet another hole in his leg...)

PW: "Oh, look, they're saying hello! HELLOOOOOO' KUUUUDUUUUU! Heeh heeh!"














RP: "Thisisjustatempoarysetbackandi'mtotallyincontrollandpleasekepyourvoicedownandgivemeanotherbeerandtrytostaunchthebloodflowand..."

PW: "So if there's nothing to worry about, why are we back here?"














RP: "I'm just testing the battery and starter motor of the 'Golden Goose'....we've been sitting a long time, you know! I can only explain this anomaly in terms of said Bull herd being agitated due to the presence of a breeding herd in the area, a HIGHLY unlikely scenario!"

PW: "If you say so...but I hope no elephant come along... :? "














RP: "Good! Oh s&^t!!!! , here comes the breeding herd! "

PW: "Oooh, look! More kudu, with babies!"

RP: "Ja, but there's a much better view from the fountain side! :? "

PW: "I think you just left half a tyre or something behind! What's the rush?"

RP: "Oh, look at the pretty birdie!"

Yes, the ellies were behaving strangely all trip...probably overcrowding, IMO!
