There has been an explosion of Damselflies in my garden after the rains last week.

I think this is a Common Threadtail

Here's the take from my garden on Saturday - Sunday was spent at Rietvlei.

Is this a Synolcus sp Synolcus dubius ???

Identification: Large (wingspan 24 mm), light orange, with black stripe along thorax, abdomen long and tapering, with row of brown spots on top. Femora of all legs with black barring. Wings shaded, especially towards tips.

Further reading reveals that it must be of dubius species group due to distribution and within this group, only S. dubius has the yellow femora barred with black.

Well, done, reading further. It looked a bit daunting to me.
The specimen photographed does seem to be an exact match with the one in Picker et al.
Hence, I concur. S. dubius.
