The money will be put into a trust and that SANParks and the DEA will have no control over it at all.

Nobody will get their greedy paws on it. ^0^ ^0^ \O \O

I feel that SANParks should be told/requested/instructed to publish their monthly financial statements for this specific money on the SANParks website so that everybody can see where each cent is going.

If SANParks have nothing to hide they will not have a problem in doing this.

The interest, say at 5%, will be R1062500.00 per month. Not bad hey???????

Very optimistic, Penga, unless you are being tongue in cheek! :-0

That kind of money will raise all sorts of ears down the supply chain! ;-)

Agreed, stf. SP have got many millions besides this latest one over the years, including from government. It does not all seem to appear on their yearly audits...

While SP/DEA call for donations that don't come to them directly to go into a "central fund", ALL donations and expenditures should be public knowledge, and available. It is not dificult!

agreed on thT last part but it will be made very difficult.

apparently that trustfund is going to be governed by Howard Buffet himself.
Purchases etc will only be paid out of the trust with his signature.
a lot of other "failsaves" has build into this construction too.
he does zee the cancer that is robbing this country blind and is not going to throw his hard earned money away that easily.
