You have passed on the virus to your SO! :-0

I merely returned the compliment; when we met, I hadn't been to the Park for several years, she rekindled my passion for wildlife.

This is a Striped Antlion (not Gregarious as I originally posted - there seems to be some confusion as to its correct name).

I have posted this in the Info Book but I can't find any information about this species.

There was not so much activity around the daisy bushes last weekend but I still managed to spot some new species.

First new ones were some Spotted Maize Beetles (Astylus atromaculatus).

Then another Hairy field Spider with the white flash - this one is not in the new Spider book.

Another new one was a beautiful Longtailed Pea Blue Butterfly (Lampides boeticus).

A Leaf katydid.
Image

A Wolf Spider.
Image

A beautiful Moth in subtle browns and oranges.
Image

An Unidentified Caterpillar.
Image

And another new one, a Cotton-Stainer Assassin Bug (Platymeris)

More to come....

Love the butterfly!! \O We had a beautiful big moth in the house last night but I couldn't get any pics as our dogs were trying to catch it, so I had to catch it first and put it outside. :O^

O/\ O/\ O/\ Interesting finds and some excellent photos ^Q^

I think, the assassin is not a Platymeris (they have banded legs) another one of Harpactorinae subfamily

May fav is the orange tinged moth ^Q^

Unfortunately, the Maize Beetles are exotics, imported from South America about a century ago. :-(

Of course you love the butterfly! :-)

Big flappy moth or big buzzy moth? My SO evacuates the room when they arrive. Don't know why, the worse they can do is give you a nasty flapping! O**
