Day 8 - 10th October - (Continued)

We arrived back in camp at 6.40pm. We elected to have a light dinner and just chill and watch the evening events at the waterhole.

As the lions had departed the scene the waterhole was fairly active. We saw 3 brown hyena, kudu, red hartebeest and what we suspect to be a cape fox but am not sure and obviously the normal black back jackal.

Tonight we witnessed 2 owls flying in and out from the waterhole. We hit the bed at 9.15pm.

Day 9 - 11th October

We awoke nice and early after a good nights sleep. We made coffee and where sitting on the patio eating our rusks as a few brown hyena came and went. Then some wildebeest came to drink and we then saw this.

Image

At first we could not figure out why they scattered but then coming in from the north side towards the waterhole was the reason. As you can see the wildebeest came back for a good look quite strange and then left again.
