1km south of Urikaruus at 19:05

On our way back to camp we ran into the ladies resting a little south of Urikaruus. When we got into camp we heard that they had failed to catch a springbok at the waterhole.

Beauty is standing, not sure who is who of the other two.

After leaving them the night before we returned to find them lying a litting further south. There were quite a few springbok heading their way. Beauty saw something across the road and ran up the calcrite and out of sight. Leaving the other two in the river bed. They then had a failed attempt on two springbok that were walking their way.

We then left them as they decided to wander over the far bank.

On our way back after lunch to look for the leopard Dakotah we found Gift sitting on the bank where we had seen them in the morning. Her sisters were no where in sight. She didn't stay around long and promptly disappeared.

After a great day for cats (lions, leopards and cheetahs) we returned to camp to find all three sisters back at the waterhole.

Comparing the morning and evening photos you can clearly see that Beauty caught something when she ran over the hill and fed pretty well. Her sisters on the other hand weren't so lucky.

2013-12-12 Bedi
8kms north of Grootkolk at 06:00

After spending a few days with Safran and Tebogo we decided to look north of Grootkolk on our last day in the camp. After not going far we bumped into Bedi sunning herself.
There was a really large group of springboks making their way towards her. She took cover behind a bush in a perfect ambush spot. However, the canny springboks must have sensed that the left hand side of the river was a bit dangerous and they all magically moved to the right hand side as they passed her. We had to leave and couldn't wait to see if anything further developed.

2013-12-20 Simon
On the 14th Borehole dune road at 07:36

After leaving the park for a few days we returned with my little brother and a colleague. They were so happy when we found Simon walking next to the road. He crossed in front of us and walked away west.
