Without any other mammal sightings we arrived at Nossob at 2:30 pm. Only this PCG entertained us

We ckecked into unit 9c and left at 4 pm for an afternoon drive to Marie se draai which had been so good to us last year.

On the way we saw another PCG - flying awy

At Marie se draai there was no game at all and we were very happy to see at least this african hoopoe

and a bateleur at sunset at Rooikop



That night we were awoken several times by the jackals howling a bit away.

As Marie se draai was a disappointment we decided to go to Kwang on the morning drive and try to find the leopard that likes to feed on jackals. Outside of Nossob we found a couple of cars parked at the roadside and could not see anything. One of the passengers told us that there were cheetahs on the other side of the riverbed. They were far away though and on the run. Then the lady introduced herself as Wanda. I was obviously so surprised and still a little bit sleepy that I did not really grasp who she was.

At Cubitje Quap we met her again and she told us that she was on her way to Grootkolk. That availability had come up a couple of weeks ago and she booked it. Now we knew who bet us to this. I had made a mistake and sent an e-mail to reservations to book two more nights instead of booking online. As it took them 4 days to reply, it was already booked in the meantime. We know by whom now.

There was another big surprise awaiting us at Kwang. The parking lot was occupied
