O M W, did I speak to soon????

You know it's hard to describe in words, the actuality of this issue!!!

I was priveleged enough to be able to attend the OSCAP int. Conference!!

It was a two day conference expressing the destiny of rhino, inclusive other
sensitive animal issues. The first day leaving little hope. Many of us sat there
staring at one another as if to say???

The second day perked and I was well impressed at the in put/concern out there!

Almost as little as 48 hours had gone by, not even two days, when the MoC, in
closing, announced that 18 rhino had been slaughtered while were there,..

There is still hope out there, believe me there is, long term though!!!

We need, desperately, some short term action!!! Lotsa action!!!

I've quoted my black children quite often over the years, and still give all my kids the same topics to write essays about. This years crop has revealed a much different insight and topic preference versus previously.

Definitely a serious concern about rhino poaching, coupled with info and understanding of the consequences. Also no doubt as to what dire ends poachers should meet...long or life sentence. Also a definite increase in black kids visiting the Park on a regular basis, obviously families included, and overnighting.

Interesting as a tiny sample! \O

I saw this link on the Africa Geographic Facebook page earlier today:

http://africageographic.com/blog/the-tr ... tic-scale/

Stark, by way of this post, I would like to itterate
Paula's feelings for they are quite true and genuine.

What transpired in that lapa, for almost the better
part of two days,...was very heartbraking!! People
sat facing each other staring questionably,..

"Is there still hope,..??" and then for a brief moment
a flicker of hope flashed!!!, but for one that Vietnam
has accepted the falacy/urgency as the speakers each
had their turn,.

It was mentioned that Japan has ceased their whalling
program and since even China has emerged to the plate
taking cognisance,....Kenya has adopted attitude and so
forth and so on,....

This conference was taken to such level same as drug
smuggling and child trafficking etc, only to try show the
level of importance and speakers input internationally,..

The mythology and practice of rhino poaching came across
as little that we do not know however what did come across
as a slap in the face, were the stats from every speakers
point of view. This conference rocked the foundations of me!!!

I can very well understand Paula's and others feelings,...

To Paula,..
