Black-shouldered Kite - one of my favourite birds to photograph.

Ground hornbill in flight - always a treat, IMO.

And any raptor against a deep blue sky is stunningly beautiful,
but I agree that BSK are extra-rewarding, Michele. Great,
how you managed to capture the piercing red eye(s).

Time to restart this topic with a sneak preview of some pictures taken at Austin Roberts Bird Sanctuary with my new Nikon D7200 coupled with the Tamron 150-600mm lens I purchased in December last year.

Photographing Geese in flight is relatively easy, they are big, slow and their flight path is predictable which makes it less difficult to pan on them.





Sacred Ibis are also relatively easy for the same reasons.


Sometimes you can get lucky and a Pied Kingfisher will hover right in front of you.




Getting them in flight when they aren't hovering is a little more difficult.

The bigger the bird, the easier the shots in flight... I can whole-heartedly agree to that, BT.
Have yet to get a good shot of a really small bird.
