Kruger, Mopani camp Eco Trail

The Great Trek.

Let's go on the Eco Trail! What a great idea! We emerged (seemingly) days later at the far end of the camp, hot and sweaty having almost gotten lost a couple of times where the trail seemed to vanish. The path also got pretty rough from time to time and we struggled along in our sandals which aren't designed for hill climbing.

On the plus side, I did get some Dragonfly pictures.

How about male and female Trithemis annulata Violet Dropwing or teneral male for the second one.

I don't think that it is Red-veined Dropwing Trithemis arteriosa

I agree! The Red-veined Dropwing has a black tip to its tail. ^Q^ ^Q^

Th first one a Brachythemis lacustris Red Groundling female or teneral male -O- -O-

They striped eyes point to Brachythemis

Epaulet Skimmer Orthetrum chrysostigma female or any other Orthretrum also similar O/
I don't think it's a Red Groundling Female, my reference PDF says the "wings are completely clear, no orange markings". Doesn't say anything about the teneral male 0*\

-O-

HMMMM O/ these eye patterns are distinctive, the skimmers don't have stripes - so must check again =O:

The pterostigma are yellow with a border of black or even bicoloured yellow with outer margin black, that would it also narrow down to not that many candidates.
