Have seen on FB, that it was a bull fight and the younger bull was injured and had to be put down.

Yes there was a fatality last Friday. Two bulls were fighting and when one slipped on wet mud he was wounded by the other through his trunk and the back of his head. Unfortunately he would not have recovered and so the rangers took the decision to relieve him of what would have been quite a slow and painful death. Both tusks have since been removed to ensure that poachers don't head that way.

We'll be heading to the park again tomorrow and spending a night there as well. Hoping to see some activity around the elephant carcass... and hoping that the weather warms up a bit as it's been freeezing today 0:
