I'd rather post pictures that aren't lousyToko wrote:BluTuna, we do appreciate lousy photos, too (not saying that this IS lousy )
Toko in 'poor light' available?
I have a couple more Tokos to post but not in poor light. Did you miss the one with the interesting lunch a couple of pages back?

Not sure about that, I recall that they were extremely scarce in the late 1990s probably due to the major drought we had a few years previously. We usually see Tsessebe north of Letaba.Lisbeth wrote:They are getting scarse

No, have seen it, it's a very nice Toko and good photos. But I am very sorry to see the centipede gowing down for a mealBluTuna wrote: I have a couple more Tokos to post but not in poor light. Did you miss the one with the interesting lunch a couple of pages back?
Re: BT on the trail of the mythical Pangolin
Day 4 continued.
Back at Tsendze a Common Sailer Butterfly (Neptis laeta).
After breakfast we were interrupted by some Arrowmarked Babblers...
That had a parasite in tow.
They were rearing the Striped Cuckoo chick from hell!
A couple of twitchers had persuaded Rodgers to let them visit the camp. When I beckoned them over to show them the Cuckoo and Babblers they were so excited they were visibly shaking! They kept telling me that I was so fortunate to be staying at Tsendze - which I was, of course!
Here's a Toko in reasonable light, Toko!
And a Laughing Dove.
Up to Mopani to find out about my Dad's surgery and a quick look for bugs in the flower bed. This time I found a couple in the pond.
A lousy shot but Wolf Spider was walking on water! The fish were trying to eat him but they produced a bow-wave that pushed him away from their mouths!
A Pond Skater, different to the ones I get in my pool at home I think.
On the drive, the game was even less evident than ever, all we managed to see in photographic range was a Grasshopper.
And the early twilight produced some interesting clouds.

As usual, you a probably right! It looks like the Spotted Sailer has the small white spots on the leading edge of the forewing but the Common Sailer does not!
