Day 8:
Today we travelled up to Satara for 3 nights

, we now start our trip up to Punda to see what the North would hold in store for us for the next 9 Days. The trip to Satara was great, we saw plenty and the day was overcast so not so hot

. We started with a hyena running next to the road making a hang of a noise, we could see 2 more just further off in the bush but nothing much happened

, they would run to the road, then back into the bush, back to the road, cross the road and that was all they seemed to want to do for the 30 odd minutes we sat there

.
We had this Marabou stork nice and close to the road and these two Pied King fishers, first ones for the trip which was quiet amazing for me.

Further down the road we came across this chap, looked like he had arthritis

!
And a first for me were these Red-billed Buffalo weavers
The wind was blowing so badly that I thought for a moment I was in Cape Town

, unfortunately this did not help with taking these photos, it was two male lions lying rather far off in the bush, at full zoom this is the best I could do.
A random birdie posing, please help with ID’s if you don’t mine
We were just past Tshokwane, about 5 km’s when something caught my eye, Leopard in the bushes...maybe cheetah

, we reversed and there was nothing where I had seen it

, we moved forward slowly and there it was

, it was out in the open when I saw it first and now it was in the bushes

, typical!!! and these were the best shots I was able to get of it!!
If this was a kill next to the road, it must have been an amazing sighting

Some Buffulo grazing
We were not far from Satara when we spotted a car next the road, as we pulled up we spotted what they were watching, a LIT

, one I could see for a change

, just very far off so once again sorry for the not so great photo quality

. This is the best sighting I have had of a leopard for a long time so sorry for the many photos. It lay there and then seemed to get restless, got up and climbed down.
Close to the H6 we had this Ellie close up
And then some more general game to end the trip to Satara
Day9 will continue:
