After breakfast, we packed the birdmobile and headed North along the S60.
The scenery here always fascinates me and I would love to be able to walk through the bush here if their was a guide available.
We had only covered a few kliks when we came upon a bakkie with it's numberplates removed and the driver was busy on his mobile phone. We thought this was a little suspicious and passed the info on when we spoke to the section ranger.
The traffic on this road was unbelievable, with cars, bakkies, lorries etc all racing at sometimes more than double the posted limit. I remember this as a quiet road, not a racetrack. Needless to say, we saw very little until we reached Klopperfontain dam. The only people who seemed to be obeying the rules were ourselves and the SANparks construcion gang who were repairing the roads nearby. (Well done to them

)
We never saw any of the vehicles that overtook us in camp overnight, so I guess they just pay to stay, but drive straight through?
Anyway, at Klopperfontain, we saw half a dozen Tsessebe, some of which were camera shy, but others posed to allow me to take a pic.
Further on, an obliging Burchell's Coucal was sunning himself on a nearby branch.
Turning onto the H1-8, we made our way towards Baobab Hill where we encountered Zebra and Elephant on the roadsides.
Eventually reaching the Luvuvhu river where we could stretch our legs and take in the river scenery.
