I have spent a few days at Mkhuze Game Reserve, which is a small jewel with beautiful landscapes, especially around Nsumo pan. It is renowned for its birdlife but I was a bit disappointed in that respect as I did not see so many (neither in variety nor in number) There are 5 hides in the reserve that have been restored a short time ago and have reopened at the end of last year.
The water level was still high and unfortunately, the Fig forest was closed and it was not possible to do the trail.
