A quick tour up to Babalala picnic spot in the morning produced a number of different bird species, but the only photos I took were of a Buffalo bull.

Back to camp for breakfast where a Duiker and fawn were in the long grass in front of out unit along with a pair of Fish Eagles. We set off to head down towards Shingwedzi along the S56, but were held up at the first waterhole by a large breeding herd of Elephants who were coming down to drink.

Elephants were approaching the waterhole from every direction. There was another car already there when we arrived so both carloads just sat and watched as ellies passed around us heading for the water. Suddenly there was revving and tooting of car horns from further along the road, with elephants trumpeting and crashing through the bush. We had nowhere to manouvre so just had to sit there and hope for the best. A couple arrived in their bakkie and the woman passenger immediately got out of the vehicle and took photographs! Got back in again after a couple of minutes and hared off again, leaving us and the other's there gobsmacked by their behaviour.
