Re: "Kyk die Leeus Oom Dewi."
The following morning saw us on the bridge again at dawn, but I only felt negative waves this time. We decided to move on and before long had a pair of African Hawk-eagles sitting in a roadside tree. They did not hang around for a pic though. After a few more kliks, we saw a traffic jam ahead of about 6 vehicles and pulled up at the rear of the queue. We could hear Lions roaring nearby, but could not see them. The cars were all jostling for position, so we just sat there a few metres back and waited.
Before long, I said to Jan to overtake them all and go up the hill a bit in the hope that a slight rise in elevation would help. We moved forward and stopped a couple of hundred metres ahead of the pack, then rolled back down the hill slowly until we had a glimpse of the Lions.
Two males were proclaiming their territory and were roaring away. The van was reverberating with the souds they were making. After a while, the Lions moved forward towards our position where we gor great views of them as they walked by. This caused a major reorganisation of the vehicles behind us, which had now swollen to about 10 in number. They all passed us and jostled again for position. By this stage we could see that the two males wanted to cross the road, but were being cut off by the vehicles constantly leap-frogging eachother as the Lions moved along the roadside. We decided to turn around and head back towards camp.
First glimpse.

Roaring.

One of the males marked out his territory.

It was then that I remembered that I'd not used my patented tongue filter for my camera, so on it went and hey presto!

The Lion thought it was funny too and gave me a smile.

The pair then gave us a walk-by before we turned around and left.

Woa, that look on his face says that he's serious about the marking bit.
But handsome nevertheless.
for the sunset shots in the previous instalment.

Proves how much you actually read my TT's.
This is the fifth report of my travels I've mentioned using it. The first was way back in 2011 and it's been deployed on all my expeditions since then. Here is another version of it.
Look up "Burning Bridges" and the term "Negative waves." Theres your homework for tonight.
