100% Mel Sanparks senior management could fill millions of hot air balloons with the amount they spew forth.
Man was placed in charge and given the duty of caring for all creation, are we doing it?

Another friend of mine was there a couple of months ago:
Some serious solar panels! (But maybe experts could say what power they could supply/)

The staff quarters...looks fine!

Contractor at work!

Some cleaning up!

The old Mockford Farmhouse:

The small cottage:

The pool area:

Re: Historic TEBA Pafuri Camp taken over by Sanparks
Now here's the kicker...
Teba vacated the premises after having been bought out by SP in March 2012. We are now nearing the end of 2014, by which time TEBA SP was meant to have been up and running. This is clearly not going to happen.
The skinny is that the first contractor failed...part of the problem being that they had to/wanted to overnight in Punda and drive in to work every day, despite the staff quarters in the second pic being quite fine. They were fired.
So very little seems to have been achieved...in fact absolutely nothing happened for 6 months after the old TEBA staff left...and we now sit with something being done 2.5 years later.
The point is, SP regularly justifies their actions regarding job and capital creation.
In this case, on a small scale but nevertheless important, 4 or 5 families, with various codependents, who had been going on fine for many years, were basically evicted from a financially self-sustaining tourist enterprise.
One may speculate as to the reasons for the eviction of TEBA from SP land...but so be it.
However, the camp was and will be extremely popular, especially amongst birders, and who knows how many jobs and how much capital could have been generated already had prompt renovations taken place. And no...flooding didn't touch the camp.
Lastly, and most poignant for me, is the destruction of the fantastic lawns and century old garden in the camp, carefully nurtured by Mockford and his followers. There is no excuse for this, and it is irreplacable.

Re: Historic TEBA Pafuri Camp taken over by Sanparks
The last few days I set aside time reading fact sheets authored by SanparksRichprins wrote:Some serious solar panels! (But maybe experts could say what power they could supply/)
looking and searching for good reason to understand their mission statement,
then crap like this pops up,..Oh my word!!! just some two years ago some famous
DJ raved about this place!!!
Only to know that our curators are now tackling the hotel industry enterprise,
down south!!! Those panels would barely suffice in keeping the landlords fat
bum cool in anticipation waiting for bigbucks to arrive!!!
