leaving Postberg we stopped again to have a look at the lagoon

flamingos were everywhere





as were many other birds –terns, kelp gulls, Hartlaub gulls, cape cormorant (8)

a little bit later this black harrier (11) was sitting right next to the road



we only saw that it had caught a mouse when it flew away





next was a karoo prinia

the last stop for the day was Abrahamskral bird hide



inside was a white-throated swallow (12) in its nest

outside we saw cape teal (13)

then we had to hurry to reach the gate but there still was time to take a picture at Gelbeek



we had a final roadblock





and reached the gate just in time. The nice guard who helped us in the morning was leaving work for the day and asked for a ride to Langebaan which we gladly offered. Then we returned to our lodge.

originally we had planned to go to the park early and leave around noon towards Fish Hoek. But as breakfast was available later as expected, we only arrived at the gate at 11:30 am. The first stop was at Seeberg bird hide.
