Re: Flavour of the Month of May 2015 - Twee Rivieren
Twee Rivieren is the largest camp in the Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park and serves as the administration centre of the park. When going to the Botswana side of the park you'll have to check in at Twee Rivieren. It is also the only restcamp that offers a restaurant. Furthermore there is the best stocked shop (where you can pay with credit cards) with an ATM (but I wouldn't rely on it working!) and a fuel station.
Species that can be seen throughout the year include White-browed Sparrowweaver (which breeds in the camp), Crimson-breasted Shrike, Brubru, Pririt Batis, Black-chested Prinia, Yellow-bellied Eremomela, Common Scimitarbill, Red-eyed Bulbul, Marico Flycatcher, Red-headed Finch and Yellow Canary. These species are however all widespread in the park.

Right outside the gate towards the game area there is a waterhole:During the summer months species such as Diderick Cuckoo, Willow and African Marsh Warbler, as well as Barn (European), Greater Striped, South African Cliff and White-throated Swallow amongst others may be seen. All occurring swallows are widespread in the park during summer. Rufous-cheeked Nightjar can also be heard at night during summer. Other species present in summer are Spotted Flycatcher, Cape White-eye and Long-billed Crombec.
The winter season is a good period for spotting Fairy Flycatcher and Dusky Sunbird that move into the park. Spotted Eagle Owls are resident in camp and Pearl-spotted Owlet and Whitefaced Owl may occasionally be heard or seen. European, White-rumped, Little and Bradfield’s Swift ay be seen during the rainy season while passing through.

The camp layout
It says 31 bungalows here, but from the availability I was able to count only 24
Either way, there is a guesthouse for 6 people and cottages / bungalows with up to 4 beds. Units for the mobility challenged are also available.
And there are 30 camp sites, most of them powered.
