I'm surprised at seeing chicks at this time of year, I thought they were vulnerable to the cold.

The Flamingos have been there for a while but only a few of them - the most I've counted on any visit is five but that doesn't mean there aren't a lot more in the other pans that aren't visible from the hides.

Yes, they do that when they are taking off or running away from another Goose, it's just a matter of being ready to take pictures at the right time!

25 May 2015. I have good visits and bad visits to Rondebult. This was one of the not so good visits.

Something different...a Cape Shoveler.

Whitefaced Ducks posing.
Image

A Maccoa Duck that woke up for a little while and was actually close enough to get a passable picture.
Image

More nutty Gyppos.

Spurwing arrival.

And more fighting Coots.

The next visit was one of the better ones but I'll get to that in good time.

If they were scared of me wouldn't they be flying away?

Seems you have conquered the techniques of bird photography! Very impressive pics ^Q^ ^Q^ What's your next challenge - birdwise, or other, relating to photography?

Thanks ExFmem! "Conquered"? Hardly, I'd say that I'm just starting to get the hang of it; there's still plenty of room for improvement so I need to practise, practise, practise! I haven't tried the new camera out with my macro lens yet so I'll get back to doing bugs when spring arrives and try to get closer to your standard!
