But no excuse! "Commercialisation" is one reason...end of story!

Accommodation may be built in the "buffer zone" outside the Park! @#$

There is also a plan to offer more proper wildlife activities from Phalaborwa gate and these jobs for guides and the required catering (providing lunch packages etc) will be also part of the new jobs.

They will offer full day safaris, bush braais, full day walks, mountain bike trails and probably have just much more normal activities such as sundowner drives, morning walks etc.

This alone can create 20 jobs or more -O- -O-

check this tender doc for example

No my furry friend!!! I was bluntly informed that
Sanparks do not do these activities, for the would
not have total control, so to speak,.. I seem to understand
this meaning, them a state organ cannot effectively get involved
in private enterprise activities,..

My personal feeling, just a smokescreen for full utilization
of little goldmine at hand!!!!

Hallo there. I took the time to copy some Statements and questions from SP forums. This was early 2009, more than 6 years ago. O** All was denied by SANparks.

I was still active on those forums at the time and asked the questions.
A hotel in a National park is not something new but are they aslo going to stick to the rules. Are they going to have their own Nightdrives, ballon safaris etc. Can the guests go to the hotel at night.
Now if Kruger has such places on the periphery of the park, less impact on the environment? I think what really bothers a lot of people is the fact that the OSV's for instance have grated many a nerve etc.

AND

SANParks is probably going to put up hotels at Orpen, Phala, and Punda Maria as well. 6 Hotels in the planning.

AND

What about the rumours that camps are going to be privatised. Will there be any selfdrive left?
Now we have a few threads that should be combined to get the picture.
Hotels are going up thread.
This thread.
OSV's early in the park and driving private roads thread
New Kruger park manager Mr. Phillips.
Richprins Crystal Ball thread.

So it does look as if Kruger will be our treasure no more, but in the hands of a few.

If we put the proverbial 2 and 2 together, or the above threads, what will happen?

Gates of Kruger will have Hotels, privately owned, it is starting to look that way, with balloonsafaris etc. 0*\
Selfdrive will be a thing of the past.
Camps in Kruger will be privatised, this will not be the first parastatal that is privatised(sold off) with Mr Phillips at the head.

Good bye heritage, good bye Kruger.

nothing changed, i have not grown up yet.

Well, they say no "guest and staff housing"...so not really a hotel as much as a circus?

But I bet accommodation will be built just outside!

It depends on the definition of outside to the average person vs SANParks definition of the "development zone" which is inside the park O**
