Yep, Plan C was the charm - and the Owl was a great sighting but not our only one!

Our first love is the Kruger but it's great to go somewhere different every once in a while!

Monday 14 September 2015. Twee Rivieren -> Mata Mata.

Twee Rivieren is a railway station, we had a whole herd of insomniacs crashing about at 04:45 this morning pack up up their stuff. The place was practically empty when we got up at dawn. I'm glad we'd only booked into TR for the first and last nights of our trip.

We took our time getting packed up and went for a not very good breakfast at the restaurant. They had the cheek to charge R10 for a cup of swill that was some cheap chicory blend; advertising this slop as coffee should be a criminal offence! This was in contrast to the meal we had there the previous evening which was very nice.

Eventually we got on the road to MM.

Superb camouflage - how many animals can you see in this picture?

Some Gnus and Springboks.

A couple of Kilometres past the first picnic spot we saw our only Cheetah of the trip. Another FOOD picture for RP!

At Mata Mata, after setting up we decided to relax in the camp for the rest of the afternoon.
