Re: Botswana Sep 2015
Gen Gump,
You got some amazing sightings at Nxai pan. We were there for only one night and the moved to the Baobab trees. I noted a few young lion cubs as well and slightly bigger ones. Last year we saw a few young cubs playing soccer with elephant dung and must be about 2 years old now.
Wish I can take a trip again.
Presume its in the Boteti river you swam. Good news that the water levels are high again nearly every year since 2010. Did you take the ferry across?

The camping area is not fenced in but only the ablutions. Wonder if Gen Gump risked that excursions to the bathroom at night. Very dangerous if you are not well balanced placing one foot in front of the other.Alf wrote:That's a very old buffalo which isn't scared of the lions
Any pictures of this huge camp and high fences around it

BJ, the Thamalakane River was swam in.
The ablutions are lovely but flipping dangerous to get too. Egg shell concrete with bolts sticking out, narrow path winding in between. A waiting law suit.
There are a few electric strands around the ablutions.
