I was actually reading through the literature last night on Giraffe subspecies and the link to the above came through by e-mail earlier today, then Flutt's posted it here.

I bet Wildies can post a few pics of the various subspecies recognised on this thread. I know that Nan is well travelled in Africa, so how many have you seen Nan?

This pic (posted on pic of the day earlier this week) is of a mother and calf Angolan Giraffe Giraffa camelopardalis angolensis. Taken in Etosha earlier this year.
