:ty: for all the kind words and compliments on the photos. This year we visited a bit too early to see the flowers in bloom and will plan another visit when one can expect the landscape covert under a carpet of daisies. ;-) \O

Day 4: Day trip from Tatasberg Wilderness Camp to Kokerboomkloof

We stayed for 2 days at Tatasberg camp and on the second day took a drive to Kokerboomkloof. The total distance is ~ 32 km and taking about 1,5 - 2 hours to drive. We got to Kokerboomkloof around 9 am and a bit late capturing lovely sunrise scenes. Its is therefore recommended to camp out at Kokerboomkloof to get the full opportunity of night shots and sun rise and sunsets. Each camping site has its own ablution block and washing up basin to clean dishes.

The rock formation in this area is very unique with names like Die Toon, Queen Victoria, the Mushroom and the Witches family.

To get to this point you need to carry on with the road pass the camping area in a northerly direction. The Euphorbia virosa plants, locally known as Boesmansgif grows along the rocky edges in this valley.

I've always thought scorpions only comes out at night. This one is called the "Day Walker" (Parabuthus villosus). The one we saw is still a tiny one that can grow up to 18 cm. They are very aggressive and come out early mornings and afternoons.
