and even a scorpion ^Q^
After seeing the scorpion it was quite difficult to convince myself to go for a hike up the rocky outcrop near die Toon and without imagining snake or scorpions above me when climbing up. Got back safely at the car again. lol lol lol O:V

But fascinating, BJ!

That's for sure and no shop nearby. Did not count but we drank quite a lot of cooldrink and water during the 4 days in the park. No drinking water available in the camp so if you ever plan take enough water and juice. ;-) X#X

Its very far off, but possible to do from both South Africa and Namibia side. Maybe your SO and BB will love the river for fishing or just drifting in a canoe. \O ;-)

I bet it was hot and very dry. Yet the rugged beauty is captivating.

it's a wonder of nature... one more \O

nice little scorpion, seems to be a little bit hairy ;-)

love the 4th picture (tree in the sky) O\/

It a miracle indeed nan. The temperature is only pleasant early morning and sometimes a mist called malmokkies that covers the park early in the morning providing a vital source of water. We found there was still a lot of wet areas in the small dry rivers that runs down to the Orange river where antelope or baboons can come and drink. O:V \O

:ty: Difficult to describe how hot is was because it will be an understatement. O** Felt like a survival trip and just made it with 2 liters of water left after consuming about 20 liters between the 3 of us. However will do it again, but closer to winter or rather in spring. \O

SO had to do a few dancing steps while taking the photos of the scorpion. This little guy was quite aggressive and in attack mode. O-/ :O^

Day 4: Tatasberg Wilderness Camp

Along the way back we saw more Klipspringers and baboons on the way down to Tatasberg. Late afternoon it was time for a swim again and then watching the sun set. If you want more action take a canoe along or go fishing in the river. I am no fisherman, but if you are interest you can catch large barbels of over 30 kg, large size small mouth yellowfish and carp . When you go swimming you will certainly know of their presence as they might nibble on your toes or just give you a big fright. O-/ Fishing will be on catch and release base and only the carp can be kept to eat. The scenery around the river is exceptional and wish I could have taken a photo while swimming. At least SO got a few pics from the side-line.

On the way back from Kokerboomkloof:
