Peeling provides light access to the photosynthetic layers of the trunk during the dry season when there are no leaves - a clever tree genus the bunch of Commiphora.

You may see different ones in Kruger.

The afternoon starts with this elephant feeding on Monkey Oranges - needs some stretching

One of the few patches of Sand forest on the eastern side with the tallest trees - they don't fit into a photo frame lol
