Agree with you on all points Theuns. But as BC and I have been saying, these techno sightings boards are here to stay for sure but they surely must bare some of the social responsibility by educating their members into the do's and dont's on the way to and at sightings.
I know these rules are available on the SPF & here as well as on the entry form, but it needs to be kept in peoples faces before they realize " yes, we're talking to you, not the guy behind you"

Something like this "Lion sighted on the H1, but remember the speed limit is 50 on tar and 40 on dirt. You may not leave your car or have any part of your body protruding from the vehicle. Park on the side of the road closest to the sighting leaving the other lane open for those who want to pass by. Enjoy the sighting, but don't spoil it for others" Maybe even post a pic of some previous offenders.
Sooner or later I would hope that the message gets through to a lot more people that will read the entry permit, SPF or the AW forum -O-

The same topic is being discussed on FB...interesting to see how many people say they use BBM etc. to plan which route they won't use! \O

Not sure if anyone has mentioned before, but why don't people use the bbm group for policing as well. I think also if you talk to mods or originators of the group, they would agree that it is wrong if rule breaking is occuring because of their sightings report. So they could let the people on bbm report rule breaking with registration numbers and description exactly like the sightings and thus name and shame them on the bbm group or cancel their participation once reported? A person arriving at a sighting after being reported will get the gist from the rest of people there.

Spot on Robert T.
I know some don't agree that the techno siting boards have the potential to cause a problem if not now, then at least in the future, but it does not take a rocket scientist to figure out how technology has changed so much in our lives, mostly for good, but some times the results or rub off are bad news.
We also all know that behavior at sightings and in the park generally is at an all time low. SanParks, for whatever reason (not the debate here) can't seem to get a handle on it, so surely any site, be it a forum, Facebook, Techno sighting board etc. should do whatever they can to educate offenders.
Keep the rules and correct etiquette in their faces and then name & shame offenders

Would you be happy for me to set up an AW Gallery of Shame on FB...(or some other name)...I'm sure lots of people from the Kruger Park page would use it!

Absolutely, go for it Flutts. If it changes one persons habits for the better it's worth it. \O
