Some info here: http://www.satsa.com/osv-permits/

In the pamphlet it is stated in bold that tourists, staff and OSV OCCUPANTS contribute to misbehaviour in Kruger. While the OSV drivers are lauded as ambassadors and what not? :-?

But some OSV drivers are also at fault, hence the monitoring process, so it doesn't make sense? 0:

Rog...a bit of help, as you are obviously an excellent mechanic with a sterling record...

Can one find a simple bar graph showing the comparison between emissions regarding sedans, ldv's (bakkies), light trucks (20 seaters) and buses?

And heavy tilt trucks required for construction?

When Dr. Mabunda was arround, he hinted more than once that self-driving was going to end. He had not put a limit, but obviously we are getting there 0=

Ending self-drive will certainly alienate birders and photographers, for a start...

Thinking lately about doing a Berg-en-Dal-Biyamiti 'quickie' trip. Seems it would be better to do that sooner rather than later! O-/

When I discussed this with my kids the first thing they all said was “The OSV drivers are the cause of half the traffic jams and chaos in the south”. Warranted, there are many good operators, but they certainly aren’t “ambassadors” if kids can even see problems.

I would like to see how many South Africans visit Kruger because it’s a self drive and therefore affordable wildlife venue. At a guess I’m fairly certain that this applies to the vast majority of South African visitors, so if there’s no more self drive, then one alienates South African citizens from their own parks. Our devaluing rand may still make things attractive to overseas visitors, but I’m sure many only visit due to the self drive and the increase in cost to see the south of Kruger may make other destinations more attractive, or Kruger unaffordable.

The emissions part is just to gain some form of false justification. Millions of humans are exposed to a 1000 times the emissions daily and surely human life is as important.

In my opinion the perception of financial gain seems to be the driving force O/
