How come that he is still alive :-? I am sure that The Cow knows how to handle someone who cannot keep his hands to himself

Right! Time to continue, as almost time for the next Dimwits trip! O-/

We parked at our 4-bedder, quite a nice spot!

I forget the number... :-?

There are nice little pathways going down to your unit, sweet! \O

After having stowed our gear, all the dimwits departed to Orpen to watch SA play USA in the Rugby World Cup! Orpen had put up signs saying Maroela and Tamboti guests would be escorted back to their camps in convoy after the game, a very nice gesture, and compliments to SANParks for that!

I volunteered to stay behind and make the traditional chicken flatties and braai buns, despite the others begging me to join them!

GB: "Are you coming?"

RP: "No. Gonna make food and relax."

GB: "Ok bye."

Secretly, I was more than happy to get away from the idiots for a while, and will never forget how restful those few hours were...haven't been alone in the bush for decades! ^Q^ ^Q^ ^Q^

I also knew Orpen would be a noisy drunken orgy, so a win-win! ;-)

Temperatures had plummeted to under 40 degrees, and I even had a cold shower at the nearby ablutions, very pleasant! And another shower 5 minutes later, as one is already dry and sweating by the time you get back to the tent... 0*\

I did get a bit bored, and accosted our German neighbours!

RP: "Hello! Shorry for chasing you away at Hlangulene picnic shpot, but we were really in a jam to get a table!"

Ger.: "Err, no problemz.."

RP: "Anyway, come and have a beer latersh!"

Ger.: "Ok, maybe later. Auf wedersehn!... O-/ "

It was not the same couple, I worked out later when I saw their car...these Germans all look the same... :o0ps:

Anyway, idle hands and all...RP at work! ^Q^

Now the sun eventually set, which I was starting to doubt would ever happen. Then Tamboti turns into an obstacle course... O**
The sweet little paths are very narrow, with silly little lights about 100m apart, just enough to disorient you and drive you into the bushes alongside. I know how moths feel now...

And when you get to the end of the path eventually that silly little signpost is there, below the eyeline against the glaring lights of the ablution block, and exactly at knee level. I'm sure my DNA is STILL on that signpost...you can't walk around it easily, because stupid Frewells parks his vehicle up against it, for some reason.

The tents are like ovens in the day, so I clicked on the idea of using double fans to ventilate! ..0.. ..0.. ..0..

I had VERY cleverly brought my box fan along, so positioned it behind the resident fan to blow air out of the tent! ^Q^ O/\ O\/ \O

Genius!

Needless to say things were unraveling at Orpen as predicted, and no escort materialised, so visitors were arriving in the two satellite camps in dribs and drabs and getting lost as the night wore on.... O** 0*\

Triing triiing...

RP: "Hello!"

Frew: "Helloooooo! Go Shprinbucksh!"

RP: "Where are you?"

Frew: "At the gate! It'sh locked!"

RP: "Right, I'll make a plan, where are your car keys?"

Frew: "In the caaaaar!"

RP: "Very well!"

So moi drove around camp looking for the attendant....who was awol...to cut a long story short someone came and opened the gate from outside, so sorted! lol

A lovely meal followed, and a looong relaxation session afterwards, very memorable indeed! X#X

No badgers, but we put a chair over the dustbin as per instructions anyway, and went to sleep after a very long day! \O
