Before leaving for Botswana, I called the little one over to see if she could help me out.

"Hey Bobbejaanikjie, are you any good at drawing?" I asked.

"Yes Oom Dewi, I'm really good at it." She replied.

Well, I have a special art project for you. Can you draw a big hairy ape for me?"

"Ooh yes. I'm very good at them." She said. "Why do you want it?"

"Oupaa Richprins always gets kids to draw pictures on paper plates and then hides his face when everyone takes photos of him. I want to do the same."

"Oh. I see. Do you have a picture I can look at?"

"Here, try this." I handed her a picture.

"Hmmm, I'll do my best." She said, figuring out how best to capture the likeness.

She got out her pencils and crayons and worked away at her latest masterpiece.

"Will this do?" She asked when she was finished.

"Bloody marvellous." I said. "You are a great artist."

Back at the falls, I continued taking the last of my photos here.

Little Gogga posed nicely in her new attire.

We then headed back over the border to Kasane and booked into the Chobe Safari Lodge for a few more nights. The kids wanted to camp, so J set up the tents for them and they loved it.

I'd been hearing Schallow's turacos all over the camp when we were here earlier. but could not find them, even when I knew which tree they were in from their calls. O/ J asked me to look after Gogga while he took Bobbejaanikjie to their chalet for her nap. As I sat there with Gogga, a turaco came down low and sat on a branch in full view. I was trying to keep the little one quiet while cursing that I had left my camera in the chalet. I did have my little mik en druk with me, so took that out slowly and tried to get a record shot. The bird moved into the bushes as soon as it knew a camera was about to be pointed at it, so apologies for the poor quality, but at least I recorded this fabulous sighting. O/\

It was soon dinnertime, so the kids put on their new outfits, courtesy of Granny Edwards.

Later on, we all sat and watched the sunset ove the river.

Why are the turaco's always so difficult to catch O/ A great find and the second pic shows the bird quite well ^Q^ ^Q^

Funny tree on the pic of little Gogga \O

Is it your mother who has knitted those lovely outfits? Very clever ^Q^ ^Q^ (Did you not jump onto a plane with very short notice? O** )
