RP & Nan - Not sure if that was because of how much the lions had eaten, or if it was that thin before it died?

We checked out of the lodge in the morning & drove the girls to the airport at Vic Falls before heading back through the borders again and crossed into Namibia and the Caprivi Strip. After all the different border & vetinary checks, we headed up to Katima Mulilo and found a place to stay at the Caprivi River Lodge for the night. We relaxed on the deck and enjoyed a beer or two before dining at the restaurant.

After a hearty breakfast, we started the long drive across the Caprivi and crossed back into Botswana. Just before the border into Botswana, we took a drive through Bwabwata National Park in the Mahango Core Area and the first animals we saw as we drove along the river bed were Roan and Zebra.
Along with a herd of Sable.
A lone hippo crossed the road in front of us before heading into one of the pools.
After crossing the border back into Bots, we made our way to Drotsky's Cabins and set up the tents for the night. We had booked a boat ride in the morning and the two of us set out with Otto, our guide & boat driver, to look for pel's fishing owl. Along the way, we saw the usual birds such as pied kingfishers.
And the ever present green-backed herons.

I have tried to book at Trotsky's, but during the high water season they are closed.
