The first circumstance that supports a great time is the fact that we managed change our bookings in a way that we were able to spend 6 nights respectively at each of our favourite camps: Grootkolk and Urikaruus.
Grootkolk was set to give us the break from the hectic work and Urikaruus was meant to be the refuge from where you could explore the fascinating animal encounters. And it did work that way, plus the fact that Grootkolk also had to offer some really good sightings.

One of the most significat sightings this time around were the Cape foxes. We've never seen so many around like we did this time. And ALL of them had puppies already. Actually, we only saw them with puppies.

Some numbers (all of them not counted double!)
37 Cape foxes, of which more than two thirds were puppies
25 lions
15 spotted hyenas
8 brown hyenas (at least...might have been another one or two )
5 leopards
5 cheetahs
plus good sized herds of wildebeest, springbok and kudu. Oryx and hartebeest herds in decent numbers, quite a few steenbok and even some eland. No springbok lamb yet though, even if there were lots of pregnant females around.
And even with the agreeable amount of lions, it was a good trip regarding not stumbling over lions at every corner which helped for other great sightings

Will get the photos up as soon as I can manage
