"Commercial Tents at Pretoriuskop "
Re: "Commercial Tents at Pretoriuskop "
Did anyone notice in gamespotter's post that two of the screen grabs reflected slightly differing names - one said "tented" whilst the other said "tended"??

Welcome G@mespotter
We actually were both at Skukuza reception together a few years ago. I recognized you from your TT's but you ducked to your car before I could introduce myself.
Great research BTW

Because of it's importance to me I have somehow found some time to investigate further. These semi-permanent safari tents in Pretoriuskop have been constructed on the camping site of Pretoriuskop in the period of 14 - 18 January 2017.
I came accross this information on public websites, so the information is totally public. It's not even hidden! The pictures can be found here (scroll down to January): https://www.facebook.com/JannieBotesJDC ... =3&theater
It is installed by GMP Projects (alias JD Construction) situated in Rustenburg.
There pictures below tells us the following:
1. That setting up the camp took apporoximate 4 days. The communal tent where the breakfasts and 'catering' is organized is a huge steel structure which is installed by a professional construction company.
2. There was a whole team setting up these tents
3. There has been extensive use of mechanical equipment such as grinders and drills, there is no way that it has happened 'unnoticed'.
4. These semi-permanent (emphasis on the latter) safari tents are no way capable of being removed or broken down in a few hours, it's a huge and heavy structures and has cost a lot of time and effect to 'construct': one cannot call it 'setting-up' a camp.
5. The interior is even properly laminated, constructed in camp for this purpose and not intended to be break-up or broken up easily.
6. On the poles in cam where the safari-tents have been erected it says 'no power' clearly these tents have electricity (power).
It seems SANParks calls this 'camping' and justifies it. I simply wonder how this is possible? I wonder how they define and interpret words as 'rules or equal or genuine .
Look at the pictures, judge yourself:

Yes I'm nervous about the long term goal here and the silence from Sanparks on this is even more of a concernFlutterby wrote:That is a major operation!

A complaint of this whole operation fits perfectly into the "Public Participation Invite on 10 year Kruger Management Plan ". I have put it in my written input as I cannot attend any of the meetings.
