Never seen that before :shock: The rhino must have been weak -O- and the horn has been removed. I am not sure that it would have made a difference though.

they seems to be the same size... but Hippo is far more agressive... and (provide) get very strong and long teeth :shock:

Dr Joubert and De Vos say it is impossible to give a definite diagnosis.

Die leeu lyk maar bietjie gehawend, maar stem saam dat op die foto dit feitlik onmoontlik is om ‘n diagnose te maak. Daar is ‘n paar dinge wat ‘n ouerige leeu kan neertrek. O.a.: TB is maar een van hulle. Dan ook raak ouerige leeus baiekeer op daardie stadium van hulle lewe in hierargie gevegte betrokke en baiemaal byt die wenner die ander een oor die lende en verlam sodoende die agterlyf.

Basically TB is one of many threats as they become older, including other males disputing hierarchy.
