With a bit of imagination the tunnel looks like the entrance to a chic night club

Last winter (your summer) I had booked a few places in Botswana, but had to cancel due to my husband not feeling well. A real pity but that's life so now you'll have to show me what' it is like

That Sable is truly magnificent! My favourite antelope. Seeing them on the Chobe Riverfront was the highlight of my visit to the area.

I think I'd find that tunnel a bit claustrophobic!

Lovely flowers on the kiaat tree.

In the afternoon when you couldn't see much in the tunnel it wasn't pleasant at all. Just had to block
out the thought of what creepy crawlies might be lurking in there

We also missed quite a lot because of the excess amount of water, which you will see later. A good excuse to visit again

The crake does appear in the very north of SA but it is an inter Africa migrant.

Now off to Vic Falls for a couple of days. Our last visit was so rushed another visit was in order.
The Falls was just below its record height so we were in for a treat.
The border crossing was fairly quick and easy. Everyone chucked their passports on my lap and I was still putting
everything away when we hit the first road block. Of course the first thing they noticed was that I didn't have my seat belt on.
guilty as charged US$20 Then we didn't have enough white reflectors on the front of the vehicle - another
US$10. A good start


We set up camp. Vic Falls campsite is very nice and well run. Its is right in the town so we could walk everywhere if
need be.

The main falls was very full. The amount of spray made it difficult for photos and the cameras had to be in plastic
bags to keep them dry. We got soaked and, where normally, we could dry out, this time there was no let up.The Zambian
side had no view at all except a white wall of spray.

Drowned rats. Cameron, our grand son, had a ball in all the water.

We found this mountain wagtail on the edge of the rain forest, also a lifter. It was a bit out of its range, which is a bit
further east in Zim. and in Natal and the mountains up through Hazyview area.
