Bransby Aston Key was appointed to National Park Board of Trustees as Wildlife Protection Society Representative until his untimely death on 3 April 1949 aged 42 years. The Key family frequently visited Shingwedzi and in 1956 the Wildlife Protection Society (today Wesa) a cottage bearing his name was opened. It is still in use today in A-circie of the camp.
