I looked up your trip on the website. Somehow think going to Alaska on a ship of 900+ won't be nearly as good but I'll suffer.

The other birds following the ship were also putting on a performance and I took the opportunity to get some photos of them as well.

This juvenile Kittiwake seemed just as interested in the people onboard as we were in it.



Blue phase Fulmars cruised on by, using the updraughts formed by the ship to play in the breeze.





The paler form of this species was also present.



Adult Kittiwakes also played around on the updraughts.





Up ahead, a large blob could be made out on the ice through the mist.



It materialised into a Walrus, who was taking a siesta on the floe.





It must have been in a deep sleep as we were past it before it realised that we were there.



And simply stared at us before he settled back down to sleep again.
