In essence, the same survey from Potch university, not surprisingly, the value neighboring communities realise regarding Kruger is manifest and unconditional! \O

Translated:

A good way of nabbing poachers is to use the communities, as they know who the poachers are. They also realise Kruger is of "unimaginable value" to the area, and there is a majority positive view from said communities, and an understanding of how Kruger contributes!. (Which rather disputes SanParks' view that the communities have been denied benefits from Kruger... O**)

This is at last a proper survey, and not political thumbsuck, and seems to make a lot of sense! X#X
With all due respect to this educated man , I do not now where he came from.....If he thinks for one moment that local communities will report poachers etc , I got news for him,to put it straight and without sympathy.
Please sir the following is hard facts and if you do not now it or believe it , go and do some research at night when reality enters the rural townships.
- This"poaching" is organize crime and no local will have knowledge about it.
- No body will report anything unless they are sure they will live the next day or been handle and payed enough on a covert manner.
-Living in the rural areas of M'pumalanga at this time and place are tough and politics of the day are about basic needs, work, transport, water, hospitals, etc.Krugerpark they call it Skukuza , is something where there is sometimes work via a contractor .The game and other things in the park is out of their daily reference.

Important news today:

I had a casual discussion with V&L regarding the meeting and minutes etc., and the following emerged:

- Certain financial backers of the Developer of the Kruger Malelane Safari Lodge have backed out of the project due to the delays.

- The Developer has not paid the EIA company their latest dues.

- The EIA company have therefore understandably put the EIA process on hold, neither delivering the final Scoping report to SanParks and the Ministry, nor distributing the minutes of the Public meeting of last month to any concerned parties.

- The Developer has applied for additional funding to a source that is not able to be mentioned here yet, but concerning.

- There has still been no written Ministerial confirmation of approval of Kruger's controversial Rezonong plans.

Sorry to steal your thunder, H. but your phone was off today! ;-)

The implications here are utterly bizarre, with SanParks having declined to attend the last Public Scoping report meeting (a Friday afternoon) on the grounds that they had no further contribution to make....but they are now left without details of the meeting! 0-

This development has and will set back the intended proposal of the final EIA report, scheduled from November to January for public comment.

SanParks have intimated that construction of the Hotel will begin in January.

Furthermore, both SanParks and the Minister of Water and Environmental affairs have very recently vowed that no development would take plce without a proper EIA! -O-

This whole hotel thing is becoming a bit of a joke, a comedy of errors, if we go back to the beginning. Each time Sanparks senior management ends up with a little more egg on their faces.

Man was placed in charge and given the duty of caring for all creation, are we doing it?
