Hi all,

I have been going through the SANPARKS forum page on tuskers and seeing their tusker "Satara", it suddenly dawned on me that this is the exact same tusker I had photographed id December 2004 along the H1-4 just north of the Mnondza stream approx 10km north of Satara.
The general area, the tusk size and shape and the notch in the right ear matches between my photos and the photo of Jahan Marais which is posted on the SANPARKS web page and claimed to be from the one and only known sighting of "Satara".

This SANPARKS info was only published recently so, with me being unaware of a SANPARKS naming, I called this tusker SAVANNAH BULL due to having seen him in the open savannah veld.

Here are some photos taken with very basic equipement at fairly long range :-

If your photos are from 2004 the tusks must be much bigger now, right?

Does Aat have this tusker on his site?

Hi Lisbeth, I have send the photos to Aat earlier today.

Thanks for posting the SANPARKS/Johan Marais photo.

I suspect that this tusker must have gone to the tuskers heaven by now - no reports of him what-so-ever.
