Re: Grietjie Private Reserve

Next up, some pics from 07 October...
The weather was slightly weird this Sunday morning. I went out onto the stoep to enjoy my coffee, while listening to distant Elephant breaking trees. There was a layer of cloud cover that left a slight gap above the Drakensberg range. For a short while the sun broke through and lit up the mountains, and below the cloud the visibility was almost perfect. These are two shots with the sunlit range in the background and a breeding herd busy feeding...
Later on, once the clouds had dissipated, I went for a walk to check for possible snares on the property. I managed to get very close to two Giraffe, at two different sightings, which both allowed me to get to about 15-20m from them...

Mireille says one is not allowed to call it the Drakensberg there, but the Greater Escarpment, or Eastern Escarpment or something.

Do you take a gun when on patrol?
