Also I am surprised that Sanparks took steps to put the lioness out of her misery, but luckily they did. With so few sightings you were really in the middle of nothing O**

I was wondering what had happened with the large Juv Male Lion from Rooiputs of last year who was growing a blonde mane last year ..Well I found him late in the trip also at Kij Kij early one morning on his own resplendent with full grown black mane

I'm glad you saw that very healthy lion. It seems, we spent some days together in the park because I saw that dying lioness at Rooiputs waterhole at the public road and I also heard that she was shot. What I still don't understand is why it was done since I have always believed that SanParks only interferes with dying animals if humans were involved in their demise. (Not that I'm not relieved for that poor animal - she was quite obviously suffering…)

Anyway, that trip was all about being at the right place the right time regarding special sightings.

But I'm more than happy to hear that the rain finally came. On our last night we only had high winds and far away thunderstorms. So it's good to know that some rain fell eventually. Glad you survived the lightings though!!!


God put me on earth to accomplish a certain amount of things. Right now I'm so far behind that I'll never die.

Rangers have always shot suffering animals as far as I know, Mello, if practically possible. \O

Well, they did not some years ago when a leopard was publicly dying on Nossob webcam -O-
