A bushbaby Looks cuddly!

maybe it make the little one looks so wannabe grown up No idea really, but sweet

Scary when the bushbaby gets used to people and even jump onto your shoulder. They are usually very shy.

Same was still shy and use Timon's shoulder only as spring board

This year the S28 was a bit quiet but I guess it was because of the high grass there but nevertheless still one of our favourites

The jackal was hard to discover when hiding in the high grass but gladly same presented itself on the road

Yes, besides the few kilos Close to Crocodile Bridge the total park was dense and green

We discovered white backed vultures



and masses of zebras



who came from a huge natural waterhole along that road



and because of the water there we do always see here lots of other animals as well this year many wildebeests together with youngsters were hanging around that waterhole as well.





Finally we could turn into the short road leading to Duke’s waterhole where we were delighted to see the waterhole filled up nicely and secondly about the birds who were around such as common waxbills indeed a bird we so far did not that spot that often



and a cute spotted flycatcher really posed nicely for us.





We really spent quite a while here under a shady tree and watched the birdies and in the distance the zebras and we were about to leave already when we noticed a movement on the ground – a water monitor made its way behind the waterhole.



Next stop was then on another pond along the S130 where we spotted a pair of Egyptian goose on a large rock in the middle of the waterhole



as well as turtles and another sandpiper. Meanwhile although it was still quite early it was already unbearably hot in the sun and so we only got a glimpse of a sleeping lioness in the shade whilst riding along the tar road



besides another spotted flycatcher we really did not see anything else



until we reached the Lower Sabie causeway where a lot of hippos could be seen and photographed

and we then were once again delighted by the presence of quite a number of red bishops





starting their display show



as well as in plushed up form.



As the reeds were quite high and thick this year for sure a lot of masked weavers were also around busy in either refurbishing or building new nests



and we once again had a fantastic time in observing all the birds who came by.



From time to time a couple of red billed queleas became lost between the weavers and red bishops



but we finally could not get enough from all the different colourful feathered friends





and we had indeed problems in drag us away



as the red bishops as well weavers posed in so many different poses



but finally nature was also calling and so we made a larger break at Lower Sabie with the delicious muffins and iced freezos from Mug & Bean.
