Like or thumbs up button

Mods - had an idea

How about adding a "like" or a "thumbs up" button.

I have found that sometimes someone replies to a post or contributes to a thread. You have nothing more to say to them, but would like to acknowledge their contribution.

I'm not sure if this software does it, Dzombs.

This sort of thing was discussed at length when the forums began in 2011, along with "kudus" and awards, and the majority decided against it.

I think Dzombo has a point, especially for the younger generation.

I was showing my 3 kids the millennials party boma story and all start chirping to like posts by other AW members criticizing the need for it.

As RP stated though, I’m not sure if this software can support it.

Possibly it could not support in the past but it seems there are two mods that can add these functions onto the current version of the forum software .I will have a look see if we can implement them .

We will never have a new generation here and anyway even the social media are not so young anymore in the sense of the people who attends.

IMO copying something from a subject completely different from us would be an error as we would only look like a woman/man of sixty who wants to look like someone in their twenties.
