For sure we were also happy that we finally could get our shots now and even so nice close ups at least so far from one of them.

Image

Sorry about the number of shots but it was so difficult to choose my favourites as we took so many of them and as it was such a wonderful sighting.

Image

Image

Finally also my favourite set in motion and maybe you now can understand why he was our favourite

Image

the casual hairdo and the nonchalant walk was simply unique

Image

and luckily for us we were allowed to take tons of pictures from him as suddenly the hunt was on again as the four started to continue their walk.

Image

Although there dominated indeed a lot of traffic we were delighted that all the cars behaved very well – New cars arrived and queued into the line of cars whilst others left without any hectic as obviously the lions let enough space between each other so each car could focus on one lion and so we followed them for quite a while until they needed again a rest.

ImageL

Some of them walk up the escarpment but one still had to sit down and watched the cars go by

Image

and whilst we already thought they might disappear into the thick bush they congregate again close to where we stood with the car whilst two of them started to roll on the back

and finally also number 3 and 4 followed and the group cuddling was on

Image

Image

as if they had not seen each other for a long time.

Image

Image

Needless to say that we were thrilled to be part of such tender moments between four fully grown big cats

Image

and somehow this all happened close to where we stood with our car and we were indeed more than compensated with this sighting for the extreme quiet morning and the missed leopard.

Image

Image

The lions took their time and they also enjoyed the time with each other

Image

until the hunt was on again – some of them walked into the thick bushes but after a while all of them appeared again on the road and continued their walk.

Image

Image

to be continued…….
